Connection request

Saw your comment in the Food Manufacturing UK group about BRC prep eating up your February with retyping. That's a familiar complaint from quality managers this time of year. Would be good to connect with you.

Follow-up DM once accepted

That comment about BRC prep being 90% retyping stuck with me, it's such a common bottleneck for quality teams every February. I work with quality managers at food manufacturers on cutting that admin load down. Is the retyping mostly pulling data from paper records into the audit docs, or something else?

When to use it

Use this for approaching someone on LinkedIn specifically, where the constraints are different from email. You get a connection request that fits the character limit and does not pitch, plus the follow-up DM to send once they accept, because those are two separate jobs and pitching in the request is what gets ignored.

Common questions

Why not pitch in the connection request?
Because it is the fastest way to be declined, and the request has one job: getting accepted. It is also capped at around 300 characters, so a pitch would have to be so compressed it says nothing. Sell later, in a conversation you have earned.
When should I send the follow-up?
Not the instant they accept. A DM arriving seconds after acceptance is obviously automated and reads as a trap. A day or two later, referring to the same specific thing you mentioned in the request, is far better received.
How is this different from the Outreach Message Writer?
That one is channel-agnostic and better for email, where you have room. This one is built around LinkedIn's conventions: the character limit, the two-step accept-then-message flow, and the fact that a hard pitch on LinkedIn reads worse than the same pitch by email.
Is it free?
You can run it three times a day with no account. Signing in gives you renewing monthly credits, and this tool costs one credit per run with the one-click refinements included.
