What is working and what is not

  • Gap: Headline is just job title and company, no keywords. Recruiters searching 'Marketing Manager email paid social' or similar will never surface this profile.
  • Strength: The 19,000 subscriber growth (4,000 to 19,000 in 18 months) is a strong, specific, quantified result and it's buried in one line of the experience section instead of leading the About.
  • Gap: About section is generic filler ('passion for driving results', 'always looking for the next challenge') with zero specifics. It reads like a template, not a person with a real track record.
  • Gap: Skills list is thin and generic (Microsoft Office, Teamwork, Communication). Missing the actual tools and channels (email platforms, paid social platforms, analytics) that recruiters filter on.
  • Gap: No mention of managing a team of 2 in the headline or About. Management scope is a key differentiator for the next-level role and should be visible immediately.

Rewritten About section

I'm a Marketing Manager who grew a newsletter from 4,000 to 19,000 subscribers in 18 months, mostly through tighter email strategy and paid social that actually fed each other instead of running separately. At Ardent I run campaigns across email and paid social and manage a team of two. Before that I spent two years hands-on with content and email, so I know the work at ground level as well as the strategy above it. What I'm good at: building email programs that grow list quality and not just size, running paid social that supports rather than competes with organic content, and managing people so campaigns don't rely on one person to hold them together. I'm looking at my next move now. Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing Executive roles with real ownership of email and paid social, ideally with a small team. If that's what you're hiring for, I'd like to hear about it.

When to use it

Use this when your profile is doing nothing for you and you are not sure why. It reads the whole thing against a goal you set, whether that is finding a role or getting inbound, and returns an honest diagnostic plus rewritten headline options, a new About section, and a skills review.

Common questions

Can I upload my profile instead of pasting it?
Yes. LinkedIn lets you export your profile as a PDF from the More button on your own page, and you can upload that directly. Pasting the text works just as well; you only need one.
Does the goal setting change the output?
Substantially. A profile optimised for inbound work reads differently from one optimised for a job search: the headline targets different search terms, and the About section closes on a different next step. Set it to what you actually want right now.
Why does it tell me to remove skills?
Because a skills list of generic entries dilutes the ones that matter. Microsoft Office and Teamwork are true of nearly everyone and crowd out the specific terms recruiters actually search. The review names what to drop as well as what to add.
Will it invent experience to fill gaps?
No. Everything in the rewritten headline and About section comes from what your profile already says, which is why a thin profile produces a shorter rewrite rather than an impressive fictional one. Where the diagnostic finds a gap it tells you to go and get the material, not to claim it.
Why does this cost 5 credits?
It reads your entire profile and returns six separate pieces of work from it, which is a much longer job than a single-output tool. It needs an account, because the free daily runs only cover one-credit tools.
