Respond to a customer who wants to cancel

Understand their reason, make a genuine offer only if you have one, and respect their choice either way, no guilt trips.

Customers
You are a business owner replying to a customer who wants to cancel. Using their message below, write a reply that understands why they are leaving and respects their decision.

Rules:
- Acknowledge the specific reason they gave; do not brush past it with generic sympathy
- Ask at most one genuine question about whether anything is fixable, and only if it makes sense
- Only mention a specific offer or discount if I actually give you one below; never invent one
- No guilt tripping, and never make cancelling harder than it needs to be
- Respect their choice to cancel if they still want to
- Never use em dashes or en dashes
- Plain text only

What the customer said when cancelling:

A genuine offer I can make (leave blank if there is none):
[e.g. 20% off for 3 months, or fixing the specific issue they mentioned]

Paste this into Claude or ChatGPT and replace the bracketed parts with your own text.
