What came back

Dear [Manager's Name], I am writing to let you know that I am resigning from my position as Operations Coordinator at Halden Logistics. My last day will be September 12, giving four weeks of notice from today. Four years is a long stretch, and I am grateful for the experience I have gained here and for the people I have worked alongside during that time. I want to make the transition as smooth as possible, so please let me know how you would like me to handle the handover, whether that means wrapping up current projects, documenting my processes, or helping train whoever takes on my responsibilities next. Thank you again for the opportunity to be part of this team. Best, [Your Name]

When to use it

Use this once you have decided to leave and want the letter itself to be uneventful. It keeps the letter to the facts a resignation actually needs: that you are leaving, your last day, and an offer to hand over. There is a private box for your real reason, which shapes the tone without appearing in the letter.

Common questions

Does my real reason end up in the letter?
No. The reason box exists so the letter can be pitched correctly, warm rather than clipped, without stating why you are going. A resignation letter is a record, and grievances in it tend to resurface. If you want to raise something, an exit conversation is the place.
Do I have to give a reason at all?
No. Leave the box empty and you get a letter that is entirely neutral about why. In most jobs you are not obliged to explain, and a short letter that simply states your last day is completely normal.
Will it work out my notice period?
It uses what you type. Give it either your last working day or your notice period and it states the date plainly, since that is the one detail HR needs to act on. Check your contract for the notice you actually owe before you send anything.
Is it free?
You can run it three times a day with no account. Signing in gives you renewing monthly credits, and this tool costs one credit per run with the one-click refinements included.
